GROWW, Grief Recovery OnLine, an Internet non profit organization, www.GROWW.org, for those who have lost a loved one to death, has approved an affiliate program with Celebration Forest, www.celebrationforest.com, to allow folks to purchase living memorials in the form of trees to be planted and cared for on a large Idaho tract. The memorials are evidenced by a certificate specifying the exact location of planting and the name of the grantor. The first tree planted is in memory of Judy Divers, the founder of GROWW, who passed on December 5, 1999, three months before the third anniversary of the founding of the organization she worked so hard to create. Jim Kennedy, GROWW's Executive Director, says, "We try to make available to all our visitors, appropriate and fitting products and services, like books and special gifts for our clientele. This project is especially meaningful because it identifies so well with GROWW ideals and goals. We encourage our visitors to learn from death and grief that there is life anew as a result of our loss and the planting of a memorial in honor of our loved ones certainly enforces this message. Our friends at Celebration Forest have a wonderful and meaningful project and we are delighted to be a part of it on behalf of all who have lost loved ones." "We cannot be more pleased than to be associated with GROWW," says Celebration Forest' Heidi Stockton. “GROWW is one of the largest and most reputable grief resources on the web and we are proud to offer our living memorials to their clientele.” Located in beautiful and serene mountains of North Idaho, Celebration Forest offers a peaceful environment for viewing the memorial trees. Over 200 trees have been planted since the inception of the program, mostly in the names of loved ones who have passed away. The trees are marked with grove numbers and recipients are encouraged to visit the forest year-round. “This partnership is an excellent way to help our grieving customers preserve the environment hand-in-hand with preserving their precious memories,” states Heidi. The forest is a permanent preserve and has been set aside in perpetuity as a sanctuary, never to be open for harvest or development. Each tree, including the memorial tree for Judy Divers, will be left to flourish in it's natural environment for generations to come. People desirous of planting a tree in honor of their loved one can visit either the GROWW site or the Celebration Forest site on line or by calling toll-free at 1-877-245-7378.
