Celebration Forest - A New Approach to Gift Giving

Sandpoint, Idaho- A North Idaho company has revolutionized the gift-giving industry. Celebration Forest, a locally owned, family-run business, is hitting it big with their tree dedication service near Sandpoint, Idaho. Celebration Forest began with the purchase of 10 acres of environmentally fragile land and then went to work on developing a program that would benefit both consumers and the environment.

The concept is simple. Four types of trees (spruce, pine, maple and oak) are raised and cared for in a nursery. When they are old enough and strong enough, they are purchased by customers and planted on the 10-acre forest preserve as a living tribute to their friend's or loved one's birth, death or life achievement. Each dedication is printed on an official Certificate of Dedication for family members to display in their home.

Heidi Stockton, Director of Marketing and Sales of Celebration Forest residing in Bonners Ferry states, “We have had tree dedications for birthdays, anniversaries, pet deaths, and the passing of loved ones from all across America, especially the East Coast. When people find out about our program, they can't wait to tell their family and friends about it.”

Over 200 trees have been planted since the inception of the program. States Stockton, “This is a tremendous program that has caught fire nation-wide. We have recently contracted with over 1,200 funeral homes across North America and Canada to offer our tree memorial program to their customers. Between these customers and the people that reach us via our website, we are expecting a very busy year at the forest!”

The forest is located 10 miles north of Sandpoint off Highway 95 on Colburn Culver Road. The land has been set aside as a protected forest preserve, never to be used for harvest or development. Records of the land and tree dedications are sent to select museums for future generation's reference.

In the future, Celebration Forest plans to continue it's mission of preserving the environment hand-in-hand with preserving people's memories by eventually creating a forest in every state.
